Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 07 62 00 -8 SHEET METAL FLASHING AND <br />TRIM <br />a.Leave a 1/4 inch opening between metal edge sections.Install two <br />roofing nails in the edge of the flange,and one roofing nail in the end of <br />he vertical face of each metal edge section. <br />b.Center aluminum tape over joint opening (flange and face). <br />c.Hot-air weld 4-inch wide strip of stripping membrane over joint. <br />d.Strip in flange of metal edge as described above. <br />e.Center 6-inch wide cover plate over joint locking onto notched drip edges <br />of metal edge sections.Refer to SMACNA (ASMM)Figure 2-5A,and <br />Figure 2-5,Detail 1. <br />f.Strip flange of cover plate with hot-air welded flashing membrane. <br />Extend flashing membrane 2 inches beyond the cover plate flange on 3 <br />interior sides. <br />I.Gutters: <br />1.Fabricate to profile shown in Contract Drawings.Refer to SMACNA (ASMM) <br />Figure 1.2 Style D. <br />2.Gutters continuous,roll formed from coil stock on site or formed in 10 foot <br />lengths. <br />a.Lap joints in gutters a minimum of 1 inch,riveted 1 inch on center. Install <br />sealant tape between gutter sections and sealant at exposed inside edge <br />and on rivets. Lap joints in the direction of water flow. <br />3.Provide butt type expansion joints in gutters at spacing appropriate for the type <br />material used to fabricate gutters. Refer to SMACNA Architectural Sheet Metal <br />Manual Figure 1-7. Maximum length of gutter between expansion joints is 50 <br />feet. <br />4.Provide downspout outlet tubes in downspout locations. Refer to SMACNA <br />(ASMM) Figure 1-33B and Detail 1. Tab gutter outlet tubes a minimum of 1 inch, <br />set in a bead of sealant and secure to gutter with a minimum of two rivets per <br />tab. <br />5.Provide coated gutter brackets and spacers as shown in detail drawings by air <br />dried kynar paint or powder coated to match sheet metal finish color.Provide <br />certification delivered to site with materials indicating method of finish utilized. <br />a.Evenly stagger the placement of brackets and spacers.Space brackets <br />and spacers 30 inches on center,staggered. <br />b.Rivet spacers to both sides of the gutter only. <br />c.Secure brackets to wood blocking with two fasteners. <br />6.Fabricate gutter with leading edge 1 inch below the back edge as shown in detail <br />drawing. <br />7.Hang gutters level. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
