Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 07 62 00 -5 SHEET METAL FLASHING AND <br />TRIM <br />B.Aluminum Tape: Pressure-sensitive,2 inch wide aluminum tape used as a separation <br />layer between small areas of asphalt contamination and the membrane and as bond <br />breaker under the metal edge cover plates. <br />C.Non-Shrink Grout:High early strength,non-rusting non-shrink grout conforming to ASTM <br />C1107/C1107M Grade C (modified for rapid-setting grout): <br />1.ThoRoc (ChemRex)747 Rapid Setting Grout <br />2.US Mix Multi-Purpose Non-Shrink Grout <br />3.Sika Sikagrout 212 <br />D.Pourable Sealer:One-part,moisture curing,pourable,polyether sealant designed for use <br />in pitch pans. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A.Coordinate with other work for correct sequencing of items. <br />B.Ensure substrates are installed,secured and modified to accommodate sheet metal <br />flashings. <br />C.Report deficiencies associated with the sheet metal substrates to Engineer before <br />beginning sheet metal work. Correct deficiencies before installing sheet metal flashings. <br />3.2 INSTALLATION <br />A.General: <br />1.Lock and seal joints of pre-finished sheet metal. <br />2.Provide for thermal movement (expansion and contraction)of sheet metal. <br />3.Where dissimilar metals contact,prevent galvanic action by means of heavy coat <br />of asphalt primer or separate with sheet metal underlayment. <br />4.Prime sheet metal surfaces (top and bottom)to receive bituminous materials. <br /> Allow primer to dry before application of bituminous materials. <br />5.Install metal flanges on top of membrane,adhere and fasten as indicated in <br />detail drawings,specified herein,and in accordance with membrane <br />manufacturer's requirements. <br />6.Provide uniform sheet metal sections with corners,joints and angles mitered, <br />sealed and secured. <br />7.Hem (return)exposed edges for strength and appearance. <br />8.Fit sheet metal close and neat. <br />9.Provide cleats or stiffeners and other reinforcements to make sections rigid and <br />substantial. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
