Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 07 54 00 -8 THERMOPLASTIC SINGLE PLY <br />ROOFING <br />D.Repair deteriorated substrates. <br />E.Beginning installation means acceptance of prepared substrate. <br />3.2 PREPARATION <br />A.Remove,cover or flash using compatible,approved materials substrates containing <br />asphalt. Do not allow PVC to contact substrates containing asphalt materials. <br />B.Provide necessary protection from adhesive vapors to prevent interaction with foamed <br />plastic insulation. <br />3.3 ADHERED MEMBRANE INSTALLATION <br />A.Over the properly installed and prepared substrate,apply membrane adhesive in <br />accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and application rates utilizing equipment <br />as required by the manufacturer. <br />1.Do not allow adhesive to skin-over or surface-dry prior to installation of roof <br />membrane. <br />2.Comply with the manufacturer's published requirements for adhesive application <br />rates. <br />3.Count the amount of pails of adhesive used per area per day to verify <br />conformance to the specified adhesive rate. <br />4.Do not apply adhesive in seam areas. <br />5.Replace notched squeegees daily or as notches are reduced below 1/4 inch. <br />B.Place roof membrane into the adhesive in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />C.Shingle seams with flow of water. Overlap upslope,adjacent rolls 3 inches over previous <br />roll. This process is repeated throughout the roof area. <br />D.After placement of membrane,press roll into place with the manufacturer's recommended <br />roller by frequent rolling in two directions. <br />E.Weld membrane coverstrips at fleeceback membrane seams without a factory selvage <br />edge. <br />3.4 MEMBRANE TERMINATION <br />A.Terminate membrane at walls and curbs as shown in the contract drawings. <br />1.Roof Deck:Mechanically terminated using specified fasteners and plates 6 <br />inches on center. <br />2.Wood Wall Substrate: Turn membrane up wall 1 inch and mechanically <br />terminate using specified screws 8 inches on center with a termination bar. <br />3.Concrete/Masonry Wall Substrate: Turn membrane up wall 1 inch and <br />mechanically terminated using specified anchors 8 inches on center with a <br />termination bar. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
