Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 07 54 00 -3 THERMOPLASTIC SINGLE PLY <br />ROOFING <br />F.Provide manufacturer written verification indicating seams have been probed and are <br />watertight. <br />1.7 DELIVERY,STORAGE AND HANDLING <br />A.Delivery:Deliver materials in the manufacturer's original sealed and labeled packaging <br />and in quantities required to allow continuity of application. <br />B.Storage:Store materials out of direct exposure to the elements on pallets or dunnage at <br />least 4 inches above ground level at location acceptable to Owner. <br />1.Utilize tarps that cover materials to prevent moisture contamination. Remove or <br />slit factory shrouds and/or visqueen;do not use these materials as tarps. <br />2.Install vapor retarders under material storage areas located on the ground. <br />3.Remove damaged or deteriorated materials from the job site. <br />4.Store membrane rolls lying down on pallets and protected from the weather with <br />clean canvas tarpaulins. Unvented polyethylene tarpaulins are not accepted due <br />to the accumulation of moisture beneath the tarpaulin in certain weather <br />conditions affecting the ease of membrane weldability. <br />5.Store adhesives at temperatures approved for the product. <br />6.Store flammable materials in a cool,dry area away from sparks and open flames. <br /> Follow precautions outlined on containers or supplied by material manufacturer/ <br />supplier. <br />7.Remove damaged materials and replace at no cost to the Owner. <br />C.Handling: Handle materials in such a manner as to prevent damage and contamination <br />with moisture or foreign matter. <br />1.8 PROJECT CONDITIONS <br />A.Do not apply roofing during precipitation. Contractor assumes responsibility for starting <br />installation in the event there is a probability of precipitation occurring during application. <br />B.Only install as much of the roofing as can be made weathertight each day,including <br />flashing and detail work. Clean and hot air weld seams before leaving the job site that <br />day. <br />C.Schedule and execute work without exposing the interior building areas to the effects of <br />inclement weather. Protect the building and its contents against risks. <br />D.Ensure surfaces to receive insulation,membrane or flashings are dry. Provide the <br />necessary equipment to dry the surface prior to application. <br />E.Secure construction,including equipment and accessories,in such a manner as to <br />preclude wind blow-off and subsequent roof or equipment damage. <br />F.Install uninterrupted waterstops at the end of each day's work and remove before <br />proceeding with the next day's work.
