Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 07 41 13 -17 METAL ROOF PANELS <br />8.Complete installation of roofing and associated components for watertight fit,to <br />accommodate concealed sealants where specified,and to allow for specified <br />thermal movement. <br />9.Correct abrupt and sharp transitions in the substrate to prevent crimping,bending <br />or poor fitting sheet metal components that result in oil canning. <br />10.Correct roofing,flashing and sheet metal components that do not meet the <br />specified tolerances. <br />H.Roof components,flashings,closures and trim: <br />1.Fabricate and supply sheet metal flashings,trim and closure materials by the <br />standing seam roofing Manufacturer,unless otherwise specified. <br />2.Roof details and flashings pre-approved by the Manufacturer for inclusion in <br />specified warranty. <br />3.Install in accordance with Manufacturer's shop drawings,details and published <br />requirements. <br />4.Install details with redundancy,including secondary metal flashing,concealed <br />sealant and metal roof panel underlayment beneath details. <br />5.Provide uniform sheet metal sections with corners,joints and angles mitered, <br />sealed and secured. <br />6.Hem (return)exposed edges for strength and appearance. <br />7.Fit sheet metal close and neat. <br />8.Provide cleats or stiffeners and other reinforcements to make sections rigid and <br />substantial. <br />9.Fabricate,support,cleat,fasten and join sheet metal to prevent warping,oil <br />canning,and buckling. <br />10.Sheet Metal Laps:Unless otherwise indicated notch and lap ends of adjoining <br />sheet metal sections not less than 4 inches;apply sealant tape or two beads of <br />butyl sealant between sections. Lap miters at corners a minimum of 1 inch and <br />apply butyl sealant between laps. Rivet at 2 inches on center. <br />I.Zee Closure: <br />1.Provide between roof panel seams. <br />2.Set in sealant tape and secure with five fasteners per roof panel spaced in <br />accordance with manufacturer's installation instructions. <br />3.Tab vertical leg of zee closure and turn onto vertical panel seams.
