Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 07 41 13 -12 METAL ROOF PANELS <br />2.2 FABRICATION <br />A.Roof panels and associated metal roofing components fabricated by,or provided by,a <br />single-source manufacturer to fit together as a completed roofing assembly meeting the <br />requirements specified herein. <br />B.Shop and field fabricate trim components meeting the roofing Manufacturers <br />requirements for watertight fit. <br />C.Factory form roof panels by the specified Manufacturer,not job formed or formed on <br />portable equipment in the Contractor's shop. In-line leveled prior to roll forming panel <br />profile with fixed base equipment assuring highest level of quality control. <br />D.Roll formed in continuous lengths. No panel end laps between ridge and eave. <br />E.Fabricate trim,sheet metal flashing and accessories to fit secure and watertight at <br />transitions and details. Replace items with improper fit. <br />F.Fabricate roof trim and sheet metal flashing from same specified finish same as roof <br />panel. <br />G.Replace panels and components that result in completed installation being loose,bent or <br />warped for proper fit. <br />H.Surface-applied sealants are not acceptable to finish poorly fabricated and poorly fitting <br />components.Where components do not fit tight with overlapping metal joints and seams, <br />replace materials to fit properly for overlapping,tight and secure fit. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.1 EXAMINATION <br />A.Inspect substrates and Work to verify the conditions are acceptable and complete. <br />B.Replace or repair unsatisfactory,wet or deteriorated roof substrates based on Quantity <br />Allowances and Unit Prices. <br />C.Inspect metal roof panels and other components before installation. Repair or replace <br />materials with scratches through the finish. Remove damaged and dented materials,and <br />materials scratched through to the steel base material from the project. <br />D.Verify installation in accordance with approved shop drawings and manufacturer's <br />instructions before beginning work including verifying secondary structural members <br />and/or decking are satisfactory for metal roofing system. <br />E.Coordinate with metal roof system manufacturer to ensure that reduced clip spacing at <br />eave,rake,ridge and corner areas are accommodated by framing spacing and/or <br />substrate. <br />F.Inspect substrates and notify Engineer in writing of deficiencies observed effecting the <br />installation and effecting the completed roofing system and associated components. <br />G.Inspect conditions at the walls.
