Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 07 41 13 -2 METAL ROOF PANELS <br />K.ASTM E108 -Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Roof Coverings;2020a. <br />L.ASTM E1646 -Standard Test Method for Water Penetration of Exterior Metal Roof Panel <br />Systems by Uniform Static Air Pressure Difference;1995 (Reapproved 2018). <br />M.ASTM E1680 -Standard Test Method for Rate of Air Leakage through Exterior Metal <br />Roof Panel Systems;2016 (Reapproved 2022). <br />N.FM 4470 -Examination Standard for Single-Ply,Polymer-Modified Bitumen Sheet,Built- <br />Up Roof (BUR)and Liquid Applied Roof Assemblies for Use in Class 1 and <br />Noncombustible Roof Deck Construction;2022. <br />O.SSPC-SP 10 -Near-White Metal Wet Abrasive Blast Cleaning;2015. <br />P.UL 580 -Standard for Tests for Uplift Resistance of Roof Assemblies;Current Edition, <br />Including All Revisions. <br />Q.UL 790 -Standard for Standard Test Methods for Fire Tests of Roof Coverings;Current <br />Edition,Including All Revisions. <br />R.UL 1897 -Uplift Tests for Roof-Covering Systems;Underwriters Laboratories Inc.; <br />Current Edition,Including All Revisions. <br />1.4 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS <br />A.General:Provide metal roof panel assemblies that comply with performance <br />requirements specified as determined by testing manufacturers'standard assemblies <br />similar to those indicated for this Project,by a qualified testing and inspecting agency. <br />B.Submit Manufacturer's sealed engineering calculations,test reports and/or other <br />applicable data certifying the proposed standing seam roofing system meets or exceeds <br />the design criteria listed below. <br />1.Air Infiltration:Tested in accordance with ASTM E1680when tested with a 6.24 <br />PSF pressure differential. <br />2.Water Penetration:Meet or exceed ASTM E1646 when tested with a 6.24 psf <br />pressure differential with no uncontrollable water leakage when five gallons per <br />hour of water is sprayed per square foot of roof area. <br />3.Wind Design:Provide an approved roof assembly tested in accordance with FM <br />4470,UL 580 or UL 1897to resist the design wind uplift pressures required by <br />the Contract Drawings. <br />4.Thermal Movements:Provide metal roof panel assemblies that allow for thermal <br />movements resulting from the following maximum change (range)in ambient and <br />surface temperatures by preventing buckling,opening of joints,overstressing of <br />components,failure of joint sealants,failure of connections,and other detrimental <br />effects.
