Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 06 10 00 -3 ROUGH CARPENTRY <br />E.Protect sheet materials from corners breaking and damaging surfaces,while unloading. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.1 MATERIALS <br />A.Wood Nailers/Blocking: <br />1.No.2 or better spruce or southern yellow pine lumber meeting PS 20 standards. <br />2.Sound,thoroughly seasoned,dressed to nominal finish dimension,and free of <br />warpage,cupping,and bowing. <br />3.Dimensions determined by job conditions or as indicated in detail drawings. <br />B.Plywood: <br />1.APA PS 1 Rated Sheathing,32/16,Exposure 1,Grade C,thickness to match <br />existing or as indicated in Contract Drawings. <br />2.2 FASTENERS <br />A.General: <br />1.Stainless steel or as accepted by Engineer. <br />2.Fasteners securing pressure treated lumber manufactured for corrosion <br />resistance and exposures associated with pressure treated wood applications. <br />3.Do not use nails at roof edges to fasten rough carpentry,lumber,plywood,etc. <br /> Use screws,anchors,and/or machine bolts to secure rough carpentry at roof <br />perimeter edges. <br />4.Do not use masonry screws,spikes,and drive-pins to fasten edge/perimeter <br />nailers to concrete. Utilize minimum 1/2-inch diameter anchors or bolts to secure <br />roof edge nailers to concrete. <br />5.Do not secure or fasten edge/perimeter wood nailers to hollow core concrete <br />masonry;grout concrete masonry units and provide minimum embedment of <br />fasteners to meet anchor manufacturer's installation instructions. <br />6.Do not secure edge/perimeter wood nailers to brick masonry as the primary <br />securement method. <br />B.Nails:8d (0.135 inch shank diameter),10d (0.148 inch shank diameter)or 16d (0.162 <br />inch shank diameter),type 316 stainless steel,ring shank nails.meeting ASTM <br />F1667/F1667M.Length to embed into base substrate a minimum 1-1/2 inches. <br />1.Maze Nails <br />2.Anchor Staple and Nail <br />3.Simpson Strong Tie <br />4.Manasquan Premium Fasteners <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
