Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 06 10 00 -2 ROUGH CARPENTRY <br />1.5 SUBMITTALS <br />A.Product Data:Manufacturer's Product Data Sheets for materials specified certifying <br />material complies with specified requirements. <br />1.6 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.Inspect wood for damage,warping,splits,and moisture content as defined by the <br />applicable wood products industry standards. Reject materials that do not comply. <br />B.Rough carpentry to present a smooth,consistent substrate for roof system and flashing <br />installation. <br />C.Qualifications of workers: Provide sufficient,competent and skilled carpenters in <br />accordance with accepted practices and supervisors present during execution of the <br />work. Be thoroughly familiar with type of construction involved and related work and <br />techniques specified. <br />D.Moisture Content: <br />1.Kiln Dry After Treatment (KDAT). <br />2.Do not store or install treated lumber used in the roofing assembly in a manner <br />exposing it to rain. <br />3.Lumber:19%or less before being covered/enclosed into roofing assembly. <br />4.Plywood:18%or less before being covered/enclosed into roofing assembly. <br />E.Label:Bear the stamp of the AWPA Quality Mark,indicating compliance with the <br />requirements of the AWPA Quality Control Program. <br />F.Installation of rough carpentry for roofing and flashing terminations to ensure plumb, <br />uniform and level metal flashings. <br />G.Install rough carpentry to ensure roof membrane flashing transitions are smooth for <br />positive roof drainage and appearance. <br />H.Installation of fasteners and associated materials to secure rough carpentry as detailed <br />and specified. <br />1.7 DELIVERY,STORAGE,AND HANDLING <br />A.Keep materials under cover and dry. Protect against exposure to weather and contact <br />with damp or wet surfaces. Store a minimum of four inches above ground on framework <br />or blocking. Stack lumber as well as plywood and other panels;provide for air circulation <br />within and around stacks. Cover with protective waterproof covering providing for <br />adequate air circulation and ventilation <br />B.Avoid exposure to precipitation during shipping,storage or installation. If material does <br />become wet,replace or permit to dry prior to covering or enclosure by other roofing, <br />sheet metal or other construction materials (except for protection during construction). <br />C.Upon delivery to job site,place materials in area protected from weather. <br />D.Do not store seasoned materials in wet or damp portions of building. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
