Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 05 01 30 -5 STEEL ROOF DECK REPAIR <br />AND SECUREMENT <br />2.Do not mix more material than can be used in the materials expected pot life. <br />3.Apply material at temperatures from 50˚F to 90˚F for optimum application. <br />4.Brush or roller apply deck repair coating as recommended by manufacturer. <br />5.Allow coating to dry a minimum of 30 minutes. Do not install roof insulation until <br />coating is dry. <br />6.Overlay steel deck to match existing profile extending a minimum of 6 inches <br />beyond the deficient area. <br />7.Mechanically attach perimeter of overlay deck to existing deck ribs with deck to <br />side lap fasteners 6 inches on center. <br />a.Where structural support is present,secure overlay deck to structural <br />framing in accordance with the steel deck securement pattern. <br />b.Apply weight over the area being fastened to prevent deck deflection and <br />ensure contact between fasteners,deck and/or structural steel. <br />c.Follow deck Manufacturer's instructions and SDI (QA/QC) . <br />E.Corrosion Degree 4: <br />1.Examine underside of steel deck for conduit located directly below the deck <br />surface,anything suspended or fastened to the deck surface,etc. If necessary, <br />detach objects from the bottom side of the deck being removed. <br />2.Remove deck meeting Corrosion Degree 4. <br />3.Provide roof deck where existing is removed. <br />4.Overlap deck end laps no less than 6 inches and as required to secure through <br />both panels and into the structural steel. Lap ends only over structural framing. <br /> Deck fasteners to penetrate deck panels no less than 2 inches from the edge of <br />the panel. <br />5.Overlap deck side laps to nest flush into neighboring deck panel. Install a <br />minimum of two deck side lap fasteners between framing members. <br />6.Apply weight over the area being fastened to prevent deck deflection and ensure <br />contact between fasteners,deck and/or structural steel. <br />7.Follow deck Manufacturer's instructions and SDI (QA/QC) . <br />3.4 STEEL DECK SECUREMENT <br />A.Fasten steel deck panels to steel framing and steel deck side laps as indicated in the <br />contract drawings and to meet the requirements of SDI (DM),AISC (MAN), and FM DS 1- <br />29. <br />B.Drive deck fasteners in the center of the bottom of the deck rib.Drive the fasteners within <br />+/-1/4 inch of the center of the structural steel bearing surface.Drive fasteners along the <br />center of the structural steel member,not near the edge of the structural steel. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
