Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 01 73 29 -4 CUTTING AND PATCHING <br />1.Materials:As specified in technical sections,match existing products and Work. <br />2.Employ skilled and experienced installer to perform cutting and patching. <br />3.Remove,cut and patch materials in a manner to minimize damage and to <br />provide a means of restoring products and finishes to original condition. <br />4.Refinish existing visible surfaces to remain in renovated rooms and spaces,to <br />renewed condition for each material,with a neat transition to adjacent finishes. <br />5.Where work abuts or aligns with existing construction,provide a smooth and <br />even transition.Patch work to match existing adjacent work in texture and <br />appearance. <br />6.When a smooth transition with Work is not possible,submit recommendation to <br />Engineer for review.Terminate existing surface along a straight line at a natural <br />line of division when possible. <br />7.Patch or replace portions of surfaces,which are damaged,lifted,discolored or <br />showing other imperfections. <br />8.Finish surfaces as specified in individual Product sessions. <br />9.Cutting and patching completed in a manner such that the patched surfaces are <br />compatible with the surfaces in which the repairs were made,both structurally <br />and aesthetically as deemed appropriate by the Project Engineer. <br />E.Restoration:Restore existing work,including concealed work not indicated or specified to <br />be modified,and which is damaged or otherwise affected by construction operations,to a <br />condition which existed before the work was commenced.Use workers skilled in <br />reconstruction and alteration work where construction adjoins,connects to,or abuts <br />existing work.Join Work in such a manner as to make the joining as inconspicuous as <br />possible.Obvious patching of damaged Work is not acceptable.At the completion, <br />ensure that the buildings and grounds are in first-class condition within the intent of these <br />specifications,with parts well joined as required,connections completed,and facilities in <br />working condition. <br />3.4 CLEANING <br />A.Clean areas and spaces where cutting and patching is performed where required for <br />construction or used as access. <br />B.Remove paint,mortar,oils,putty and similar materials. <br />C.Leave work in an acceptable completed condition. <br />END OF SECTION <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
