Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 01 50 00 -3 TEMPORARY FACILITIES AND <br />CONTROLS <br />1.Field Office: prefabricated,mobile units or job-built construction with lockable <br />entrances and serviceable finishes including lights and utilities. <br />2.Sanitary Facilities: Provide temporary toilets,wash facilities,and drinking-water <br />fixtures. Comply with regulations and health codes for type,number,location, <br />operation,and maintenance of fixtures and facilities. Located facilities at sites <br />approved by Owner. Access inside the facility is not available. <br />a.Disposable Supplies: Provide toilet tissue,paper towels,paper cups, <br />and similar disposable materials for each facility. Maintain adequate <br />supply. Provide covered waste containers for disposal of used material. <br />b.Toilets: Install self-contained toilet units. Shield toilets to ensure privacy. <br />c.Wash Facilities:Provide adequate hand washing stations. <br />d.Drinking-Water Facilities: Provide bottled-water,drinking-water units. <br />3.Waste Disposal Facilities: Provide waste-collection containers in sizes adequate <br />to handle waste from construction operations at a location approved by the <br />Owner. Containerize and clearly label hazardous,dangerous,or unsanitary <br />waste materials separately from other waste. Use of Owner's waste disposal <br />facilities is not acceptable. <br />a.If required by authorities having jurisdiction,provide separate containers, <br />clearly labeled,for each type of waste material. <br />3.3 TEMPORARY BARRIERS,ENCLOSURES AND CONTROLS <br />A.Provide temporary barriers and enclosures for protection from exposure,foul weather, <br />construction operations and other activities. Protect buildings and grounds from <br />damages during construction. <br />B.Comply with standards and code requirements for erecting structurally adequate <br />barricades. Paint with appropriate colors,graphics,and warning signs to inform <br />personnel and public of possible hazard. Where appropriate and needed,provide <br />lighting,including flashing red or amber lights. <br />C.Provide security controls to protect work and materials at the project site. <br />D.Provide fencing to enclose the materials storage and staging area. <br />E.Provide and maintain suitable temporary sidewalks,closed passageways,fences,or <br />other structures required by law so as not to obstruct or interfere with traffic in public <br />streets,alley ways,or private right-of-way.Leave an unobstructed way along public and <br />private places for pedestrians and vehicles. <br />F.Provide walks over and around all obstructions in public places.Maintain sufficient light <br />and guards to protect persons from injury. <br />G.Provide emergency egress from existing occupied areas at all times as required by AHJ. <br />Maintain egress path in compliance with requirements of the applicable building code. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
