Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 01 40 00 -4 QUALITY REQUIREMENTS <br />7.During the construction and completion of work covered by these Specifications, <br />if the conduct of workers of the various crafts is determined unsuitable or a <br />nuisance to the Owner or Engineer,or if the workman is considered incompetent <br />or detrimental to the work,order such party removed from the grounds with the <br />person not returning during the course of work on the project. <br />8.Superintendent:During the performance of work by the Contractor or <br />subcontractors,provide an on site and full time superintendent/representative <br />meeting the following requirements: <br />a.For the purpose of these Specifications the designation "superintendent" <br />is hereby defined as the individual present on the job site while work is <br />being performed,and whose primary responsibility is to supervise and <br />direct the performance of the Work. <br />b.Be in attendance at the project site during the progress of the work and <br />duties as superintendent limited to this project only. Supervise and <br />instruct workmen without engaging in the work process. If <br />superintendent is absent temporarily from the project,designate a <br />competent foreman to assume duties. During the superintendent's <br />absence,foreman cannot engage in the work process;supervise and <br />instruct only. Likewise,communications given to the foreman are <br />binding as if given to the Contractor. <br />c.Communicate matters pertaining to the Work with the Owner and <br />Engineer. Do not make decisions regarding changes in the Work without <br />the Owner and Engineer's knowledge. <br />d.Decision making authority and ability. <br />e.Able to demonstrate knowledge of work being installed. <br />f.Fluent in the English language (reading,writing and speaking). <br />g.In possession of mobile telephone. <br />h.Employed by the Contractor at least six months prior to project <br />commencement. <br />i.Owner approval and Engineer acceptance. <br />j.Once approved,do not change the superintendent except with the <br />consent of the Owner unless he proves unsatisfactory to the Owner or <br />Contractor or is no longer employed. <br />k.Minimum of five 5 years continuous experience as a job superintendent. <br />9.No later than ten days prior to the pre-construction conference,provide the <br />Owner,in writing,the names of the proposed project manager,superintendent, <br />and foreman for approval.If he so determines,the Owner,without giving cause, <br />may request an additional name,or names,be submitted for approval.The <br />Owner will notify the Contractor of his acceptance at least 48 hours prior to the <br />pre-construction conference. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
