Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 01 40 00 -2 QUALITY REQUIREMENTS <br />B.Solely responsible for supervising and directing the Work competently and efficiently, <br />devoting such attention thereto and applying such skills and expertise necessary to <br />perform the Work in accordance with the Contract.Solely responsible for the means, <br />methods,techniques,sequences and procedures of construction and for coordinating <br />portions of the Work under the Contract,except where otherwise specified in the Contract <br />Documents. Solely responsible to the Owner that the finished Work complies with the <br />Contract Documents. <br />C.It is the intent under this contract that workmanship be of the best quality consistent with <br />the materials and construction methods specified. The presence or absence of the <br />Owner's or Engineer's representative in no way relieves the Contractor of his <br />responsibility to furnish materials and construction in compliance with the drawings and <br />specifications. The Owner and Engineer have the authority to judge the quality and <br />require replacement of unacceptable work or personnel. <br />D.Cooperate in the execution of work and plan work in such manners as to avoid conflicting <br />schedules or delay of work. If the work depends upon the work of another Contractor, <br />report defects affecting the work to the Engineer. Commencement of work where such <br />condition exists constitute acceptance of the other Contractor's work as being satisfactory <br />to receive the work commenced. Coordinate work of trades under this contract in such a <br />manner to obtain the best possible workmanship for the project. Install components of <br />the work in accordance with the best practices of the particular trade. Notify the Owner <br />sufficiently in advance of operations to allow for assignment of personnel. <br />E.Solely responsible for health and safety precautions and programs for workers and others <br />in connection with the Work.No inspection by,knowledge on the part of,or acquiescence <br />by the Engineer,the Owner,the Owner's employees and agents,or other entity whatever <br />relieves the Contractor from its sole responsibility for compliance with the requirements of <br />the Contract or its sole responsibility for health and safety programs and precautions. <br />F.Materials or methods described by words which,when applied,have a well-known <br />technical or trade meaning are held to refer to such recognized standard. Standard <br />specifications or manufacturer's literature,when referenced,are of the latest revision or <br />printing unless otherwise stated,and are intended to establish the minimum requirements <br />acceptable. <br />G.When special makes or grades of material which are normally packaged by the supplier <br />or manufacturer are specified or accepted,deliver materials to the site in original <br />packages or containers with seals unbroken and labels intact and do not open until <br />reviewed and accepted by the Engineer. Notify the Engineer prior to such material's <br />delivery. <br />H.Provide new materials unless otherwise indicated. <br />I.Provide workmanship in accordance with the best modern practice. <br />J.Verify dimensions and conditions at the site prior to starting work and notify the Engineer <br />immediately of any errors or inconsistencies. <br />K.Maintain one set of the contract documents and accepted submittals at the job site. <br />L.Correct deficiencies identified by Engineer and non-conforming work within 24 hours of <br />receipt of notification,either verbally or written,and submit a plan of action for addressing <br />the deficiencies and non-conforming work.
