Orange County Solid Waste <br />Scalehouse Building 01 26 00 -2 CONTRACT MODIFICATION <br />PROCEDURES <br />B.Contractor-Initiated Proposals: If latent or unforeseen conditions require modifications to <br />the Contract,propose changes by submitting a request for a change to Engineer. <br />1.Include a statement outlining reasons for the change and the effect of the change <br />on the Work. Provide a description of the proposed change. Indicate the effect <br />of the proposed change on the Contract Sum and the Contract Time. <br />2.Include a list of quantities of products required or eliminated and unit costs,with <br />total amount of purchases and credits. If requested,furnish survey data to <br />substantiate quantities. <br />3.Indicate applicable taxes,delivery charges,equipment rental,and amounts of <br />trade discounts. <br />4.Include costs of labor and supervision directly attributable to the change. <br />5.Include an updated Construction Schedule that indicates the effect of the <br />change,including,but not limited to,changes in activity duration,start and finish <br />times,and activity relationship. Use available total float before requesting an <br />extension of the Contract Time. <br />6.Comply with requirements in Division 1 if the proposed change requires <br />substitution of one product or system for product or system specified. <br />C.Proposal Request Approval: <br />1.If sufficient contingency allowance funds remain,written approval will be provided <br />by the Engineer in the form of an Allowance Authorization signed by the <br />Engineer,Contractor and Owner. <br />2.If contingency allowance funds are not available;upon approval by Owner, <br />written approval will be provided by the Engineer in the form of a Change Order <br />as provided in the Conditions of the Contract. <br />a.Form of Change Order:​​AIA G701​​. <br />b.Do not commence work or purchase materials for such change orders <br />until written approval is received in the form of an executed Allowance <br />Authorization or Change Order. <br />c.An executed Change Order is the only legal document which can change <br />the Contract Sum or Time. <br />1.5 SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTIONS <br />A.Supplemental instructions authorizing minor changes in the Work,not involving an <br />adjustment to the Contract Sum or Contract Time,will be issued by the Engineer on ​AIA <br />G710​. <br />1.6 CONSTRUCTION CHANGE DIRECTIVE <br />A.Construction Change Directive:When the Owner and Contractor are not in total <br />agreement on the terms of a Proposal Request;the Engineer may issue a Construction <br />Change Directive on AIA G714,instructing the Contractor to proceed with a change in the <br />Work,for subsequent inclusion in a Change Order. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: FA2D0569-6BCE-4E38-B3EE-9B3EFD09A753
