Funding will be used towards six (6 ) new Valo curing lights <br /> to be used to provide more efficient and higher quality dental restorations and sealants to <br /> pediatric patients . The Health Department received a subgrant award of $ 7 , 500 from the North Carolina <br /> Alliance of Public Health Agencies . This grant will allow the Health Department to partner <br /> with the Alliance and UNC on a research project to implement a multi- level intervention <br /> program that reduces hypertensive disorders of pregnancy ( HDP ) which is a major <br /> contributor to pregnancy- related morbidity and mortality . The funds will be used to offset a <br /> portion of the one ( 1 ) staff member assigned to this project .
