3 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> PUBLIC SAFETY TELECOMMUNICATORS WEEK <br /> 2025 <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> WHEREAS, emergencies can occur at any time that require police, fire, or emergency <br /> medical services; and <br /> WHEREAS, when an emergency occurs, the prompt response of police officers, <br /> firefighters, and paramedics is critical to the protection of life and preservation of property; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,the safety of our police officers and firefighters is dependent upon the quality <br /> and accuracy of information obtained from individuals who telephone the Orange County <br /> Emergency Services Public Safety Communications Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators are the first, and most critical contact our <br /> residents and visitors have with emergency services; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators are the single vital link for our police <br /> officers, medical responders, and firefighters by monitoring their activities via computer <br /> and radio, providing pertinent information, and helping to ensure their safety; and <br /> WHEREAS, Public Safety Telecommunicators of Orange County Emergency Services <br /> have contributed substantially to the apprehension of criminals, suppression of fires, and <br /> treatment of patients; and <br /> WHEREAS,each Public Safety Telecommunicator of Orange County Emergency Services <br /> has exhibited compassion, understanding, and professionalism during the performance of <br /> their job in the past year; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, we, the Orange County Board of Commissioners, hereby proclaim <br /> the week of April 13 through 19, 2025, as Public Safety Telecommunicators Week, in <br /> honor and recognition of our County's Public Safety Telecommunicators whose diligence <br /> and professionalism help keep our county, residents, and visitors safe. <br /> Adopted this 15th day of April, 2025. <br /> Jamezetta Bedford, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
