2 <br /> • Total fund balance utilization: from $531,841 to $539,752 <br /> Next Steps: <br /> The BOCC-approved FY26 AWP will be forwarded to the GoTriangle Board for its approval. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: Orange County receives quarterly reimbursements from GoTriangle for all <br /> Orange County specific projects approved in the AWG. Orange County does not receive any <br /> funds where local jurisdictions are the project sponsor (e.g. Hillsborough, Chapel Hill, Carrboro <br /> and Mebane). <br /> ALIGNMENT WITH STRATEGIC PLAN: This item supports: <br /> • GOAL 4: MULTI-MODAL TRANSPORTATION <br /> OBJECTIVE 1. Identify priorities and resources necessary to implement the Orange <br /> County Transit Plan. <br /> OBJECTIVE 2. Increase community awareness of all modes of transportation including <br /> transit, bike and pedestrian, vehicle, and all other modes. <br /> OBJECTIVE 3. Support road projects that address congestion and reduce commute time <br /> using the County's Complete Streets policy. <br /> OBJECTIVE 4. Coordinate transit investments with municipal and county land use <br /> planning to reduce vehicle miles travelled and to provide more equitable access to <br /> shopping, employment, medical centers, college campuses, etc. <br /> OBJECTIVE 5. Invest in implementing the County' s Safe Routes to Schools plan. <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Update transportation related plans to provide more multi-modal options <br /> including rural Orange County. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board conduct the public hearing <br /> and approve the FY26 Annual Work Program for transit (Attachment 2). <br />
