9 <br /> FY26 Annual Work Program <br /> FY 2026 ORANGE TRANSIT WORK PROGRAM <br /> FY 2026 Revenues <br /> The FY26 Work Program anticipates $13,610,103 million in local revenues sourced from the <br /> following funding mechanisms authorized by North Carolina law: <br /> 1. Half-Cent Local Option Sales Tax <br /> o Largest revenue source, administered by GoTriangle, implemented in 2013. <br /> o Expected FY26 revenue: $11,845,000. <br /> 2. $3 County Vehicle Registration Fee <br /> o Projected FY26 revenue: $369,050. <br /> 3. $7 County Vehicle Registration Fee <br /> o Dedicated to funding public transportation systems. <br /> o Projected FY26 revenue: $856,301. <br /> FY 2026 Expenditures <br /> Expenditures are categorized into operations and capital budgets. <br /> 1. Projected Operations Expenditures: $ 8,290,657 <br /> • Service Enhancements: <br /> Operations continue all service improvements from the 2022 Orange Transit Plan with no cuts <br /> to existing services. <br /> 2. Projected Capital Expenditures: $ 14,143,134 Carry Forward with FY 26 request of$ 5,319,446 <br /> • North-South Bus Rapid Transit (N-S BRT): <br /> $8,000,000 carry forward for the N-S BRT. <br /> • Transit Infrastructure Projects: <br /> Details available in project sheets. <br /> Fund Balance Utilization <br /> • The FY26 Work Program proposes shifting $ 539,752 to cover additional needs while maintaining <br /> fiscal stability. <br /> Framework for Sustainability <br /> The FY26 Work Program balances expected revenues with planned expenditures, ensuring continued <br /> progress on critical transit projects while maintaining a fiscally responsible approach. It prioritizes <br /> operational continuity, capital development (notably the N-S BRT), and transparent financial <br /> administration.
