How will you measure the
success of that engagement or
educational effort?
Jubilee Healing Farm will measure the increased number of volunteers
on site during the creation of the cob classroom and food forest. This
can be compared to our current volunteer rates and the increase can
be noted and celebrated. Jubilee will also keep statistics on the
demographics of our volunteers who help complete the project, so we
are best able to assess the impact on various age and racial groups.
36. Please describe any other
aspect of your project that is
relevant to the amount, or
quality, or length of
engagement and/or education
that your project will produce.
This cob classroom and food forest will have a long-lasting impact on the
community of Orange County. While building the classroom will provide
benefits and education, the existence of the classroom will provide Jubilee a
space for educational programs for decades to come. The food forest will
engage and excite volunteers initially and will continue to provide a
sustainable food source for the future. A small investment in this project will
provide returns for the foreseeable future, not only for an organization like
Jubilee Healing Farm, but also for the larger Orange County Community.

Criterion 7 - Time to Complete
This criterion has a maximum score of 3 pts (out of a total of 26 pts).

37. How much time will your
project require to demonstrate
the positive impacts you
describe?
This project will immediately show positive impacts as the volunteers
who create it will automatically begin learning about the benefits of a
cob classroom and food forest on the climate. Upon completion, the
cob classroom will be ready for its permanent use of hosting programs.
The food forest will continue to develop and grow over the first five
years of its existence, but the lessons gained will begin to stack up
immediately. In addition, berries, herbs, flowers and tubers will be
immediately available after year one.

Submission Guidance

Applications are to be submitted as email attachments to Orange County Sustainability at
sustainability@orangecountync.gov.
