Please provide a brief <br />description of similar past <br />achievements or projects and <br />evidence of successfully <br />meeting proposed budgets <br />and timetables (2-4 <br />sentences). <br />Jubilee Healing Farm is piloting POEM (Peer Outdoor Education for <br />Mental Health) this fall. POEM trains Black and multiracial college <br />students to be Peer Support Specialists and places an emphasis on <br />outdoor education and eco-therapy. Jubilee received multiple grants to <br />pilot this program, and volunteers have helped meet all deadlines for <br />preparation to run the program as scheduled. Additionally, volunteers <br />have successfully helped Jubilee Healing Farm complete the installation <br />of a market garden, which, as it continues to grow and expand, will <br />provide sustainable income and food sources. <br />23. If you are proposing to <br />collaborate with other <br />organizations on this project, <br />please briefly describe their <br />relevant experience to the <br />project and/or the target <br />population. <br />PORCH Hillsborough collaborates with Hillsborough Community Garden <br />(HCG). Food grown by HCG is distributed each month among several <br />established monthly distributions in underserved communities in <br />northern Orange County serving several hundred families. PORCH <br />Hillsborough helped fundraise for and raise awareness of the work <br />being done at the HCG. <br />24. a. Please describe any other <br />relevant expertise or capacity <br />to carry out the project in your <br />application. <br />Our organization’s leader, Dr. Nora Dennis, has significant experience <br />as a leader and founder. Dr. Dennis previously served as Lead Medical <br />Director for Behavioral Health at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North <br />Carolina and implemented multiple statewide behavioral health <br />programs in that role. She stepped away in 2023 to found Jubilee with <br />the goal of bringing her program leadership skills to build a community <br />space that combined mental health care with Earth care and <br />community development. Jubilee successfully implemented a <br />blueberry orchard and community market garden, and has a small herd <br />of angora goats.
