for Mental Health) program which solely serves Black
and multi-racial college students and trains them to
become certified Peer Support Specialists to help
address the racial disparity when it comes to seeking
mental health care on college campuses (1, 2). A
variety of workshops and events will be held in this
sustainably constructed space where participants will
not only learn about the climate-friendly construction
but also the ecological topics taught within.
Our food forest will provide ample food that will be
given to those in our community through the efforts
of PORCH Hillsborough. PORCH has a streamlined and
efficient way to distribute food to those who need it
most and are glad to partner with Jubilee on this
effort as well as distributing food from our market
garden.
1. Please describe any ways in which low-income or
marginalized communities/households were
engaged in the creation of this project proposal.
Jubilee has made a commitment that food produced
on our farm will be used either in clinical
programming or donated to PORCH food boxes. The
food from our food forest is no exception. This food
will be given to PORCH for distribution to low-income
communities. In addition, the cob classroom
community build will intentionally engage individuals
with mental illness living in community. Jubileeās
founder Dr. Nora Dennis and the builder, Sage
Stoneman, both have first degree relatives living with
severe mental illness. The goal of the project is to
create opportunities for climate crisis mitigation,
community collaboration and healthy volunteering
for individuals with mental illness
Docusign Envelope ID: 61C3903E-05FE-49FE-A6AF-E50B7D61917E
