Habitat will also educate homebuyers about the <br />ability to monitor the amount of energy savings per month generated <br />by the solar panels using a solar app. <br />36. Please describe any other <br />aspect of your project that is <br />relevant to the amount, or <br />quality, or length of <br />engagement and/or education <br />that your project will produce. <br />Habitat staff will work with homeowners post-purchase to talk about <br />community engagement and home maintenance at different stages of <br />homeownership (i.e., 5, 10, 15 years), an opportunity to incorporate <br />solar related content. The new solarized community center which will <br />be at the center of Weavers Grove will provide a physical space for <br />community programming and neighbors to gather. The community <br />center is also an area where Habitat and community groups can display <br />educational materials. <br /> <br />Criterion 7 - Time to Complete <br />This criterion has a maximum score of 3 pts (out of a total of 26 pts). <br /> <br />37. How much time will your <br />project require to demonstrate <br />the positive impacts you <br />describe? <br />We expect that the installation of rooftop solar panels on 14 affordable <br />Habitat homes will be completed over two years. Homebuyers and the <br />broader community will begin seeing the positive environmental and <br />economic impacts of this technology immediately upon placing the <br />solar panels into service. <br /> <br />Submission Guidance <br /> <br />Applications are to be submitted as email attachments to Orange County Sustainability at <br />sustainability@orangecountync.gov. Please also CC the lead staff member supporting the Commission for the <br />Environment, Wesley Poole at wpoole@orangecountync.gov. <br /> <br />The Application Submittal Deadline for the Fiscal Year 24-25 round of the Community Climate Action Grant is <br />Friday, August 16, 2024 at 5pm. <br /> <br />Please note that late, handwritten, or incomplete applications will not be accepted. <br /> <br />Submit all documents including attachments in PDF format .
