OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 Enclosed Switches and Circuit Breakers 26 28 16.16 - 3 <br />N.Enclosures: Comply with NEMA 250,and list and label as complying with UL 50 and UL 50E. <br />1.Environment Type per NEMA 250:As indicated on the drawings. <br />2.Finish for Painted Steel Enclosures: Manufacturer's standard,factory applied grey unless <br />otherwise indicated. <br />O.Provide safety interlock to prevent opening the cover with the switch in the ON position with <br />capability of overriding interlock for testing purposes. <br />P.Heavy Duty Switches: <br />1.Comply with NEMA KS 1. <br />2.Conductor Terminations: <br />a.Provide mechanical lugs for switch ratings less than 400 amperes. <br />b.Provide compression lugs for switch ratings 400 amperes and above. <br />c.Lug Material: Copper,suitable for terminating copper conductors only. <br />3.Provide externally operable handle with means for locking in the OFF position,capable of <br />accepting three padlocks. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A.Verify that field measurements are as indicated. <br />B.Verify that the ratings of the enclosed switches are consistent with the indicated requirements. <br />C.Verify that mounting surfaces are ready to receive enclosed safety switches. <br />D.Verify that conditions are satisfactory for installation prior to starting work. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A.Install products in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />B.Install enclosed switches securely,in a neat and workmanlike manner. <br />C.Arrange equipment to provide minimum clearances in accordance with manufacturer's instructions <br />and NFPA 70. <br />D.Provide required support and attachment in accordance with Section 26 05 29. <br />E.Install enclosed switches plumb. <br />F.Except where indicated to be mounted adjacent to the equipment they supply,mount enclosed <br />switches such that the highest position of the operating handle does not exceed 79 inches above <br />the floor or working platform. <br />G.Provide grounding and bonding in accordance with Section 26 05 26. <br />H.Provide fuses complying with Section 26 28 13 for fusible switches as indicated or as required by <br />equipment manufacturer's recommendations. <br />I.Where accessories are not self-powered,provide control power source as indicated or as required <br />to complete installation. <br />J.Identify enclosed switches in accordance with Section 26 05 53. <br />3.03 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A.Perform inspections and tests listed in NETA ATS,Section 7.5.1.1 for breakers larger than 600A. <br />1.Verify equipment nameplate is in accorance with contract documents. <br />2.Inspect physical and mechanical condition. <br />3.Inspect anchorage and anlignment. <br />4.Verify unit is clean. <br />5.Perform resistance measurements through bolted connections with a low-resistance <br />ohmmeter. <br />6.Perform contact/pole resistance test. <br />7.Determine long-time and short time pickup and delay settings by primary current injection. <br />8.Determine ground fault pickup and time delay by primary current injection. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
