OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 Pool Dehumidification Unit 23 84 16 - 3 <br />coat painted.All nuts,bolts and lock washers in a corrosive atmosphere shall be corrosion <br />protected. <br />C.Panels shall be formed from 18-gauge galvanized steel.Access panels shall be secured by two or <br />more tool operated latches.All side panels shall be insulated with minimum one-inch duct liner <br />insulation secured to panels by adhesive and panel flanges.The insulation shall be approved for <br />350°F operating temperature.The fire resistance rating shall conform to NFPA Standard 90A and <br />90B.The thermal conductivity shall not exceed 0.29 BTU/hr/F/sq.ft/in at 75 degrees F.All seams <br />shall be bolted and sealed to prevent leaks.The roof shall be gasketed and secured to the frame <br />with Empigard-coated galvanized steel screws. <br />D.Compressors,pool water condenser and controls,including solenoid valves,expansion valves and <br />refrigerant sight glasses shall be located in compartments isolated from unit air stream to allow for <br />ease of maintenance and to provide protection from the corrosive atmosphere. <br />E.Double-Wall Panels shall be provided for the entire unit wall and roof structure.Insulation shall be <br />rigid bonded duct liner,1”thick.Interior liner shall be 20-gauge G90 galvanized steel with baked <br />epoxy powder coat finish,all sides. <br />F.Hinged Access Doors shall be provided at the openings for compressor(s),air filters,electrical <br />panel,blowers,motors,and drives.Doors shall be double-wall,insulated,mounted on stainless <br />steel piano hinges,secured with two or more tool-operated latches and sealed against a rigid steel <br />frame with hollow-bulb rubber gasket material.Hinged access doors are required on all outdoor <br />installations.(Standard) <br />2.04 COMPRESSOR <br />A.The dehumidifier shall utilize heavy-duty scroll compressors with a total of 3-stages with suction <br />gas-cooled motors.Refrigerant shall be R-410A.Compressors shall be equipped with motor <br />overload protection,large capacity oil sump with oil level sight glass and easily removable external <br />crankcase heaters.Liquid refrigerant controls shall be incorporated for liquid migration protection. <br />All components shall be located outside of airstream. <br />B.Capacity control shall be microprocessor controlled by staging compressors,allowing reduced load <br />starting and variable load operation.Capacity control through hot gas bypass is not permissible. <br />2.05 POOL WATER CONDENSER <br />A.The internal pool water condenser shall be capable of rejecting 100%of the heat recovered from <br />the compressor and the evaporator.Refer to the equipment schedule for required MBH capacity of <br />the pool water condenser. <br />B.Pool water condenser shall be counter-flow,tube-in-tube type.Waterside shall be Type L,cupro- <br />nickel.For units located outdoors,the pool water condenser shall be equipped with self-regulating <br />electric heat tape and insulation for freeze protection. <br />C.Pool water heating is controlled by a refrigerant solenoid valve that directs hot refrigerant gas into <br />the pool water condenser as a response from the control system.Water circuit shall be supplied <br />with schedule 80 CPVC pipe stub-outs. <br />D.Smart Pump Control.The pool water condenser supply pump will be off until a call for pool water <br />heating is received.When the unit flow switch is closed,100%of the recovered heat is directed to <br />the pool water condenser,heating the pool. <br />2.06 EVAPORATOR COIL <br />A.Evaporator coil shall be of adequate face area and rows to remove the specified amount of <br />moisture from the air stream.Refer to equipment schedule for required MBH of total evaporator <br />coil capacity. <br />B.Coil shall be Electro-Guard PlusTM corrosion resistant hydrophilic Electro coated fins.Coil shall <br />have a flexible,epoxy polymer,E-coated in a total submersion bath,uniformly applied to all coil <br />surface area without material bridging between fins.A spray on hydrophilic top coat shall be <br />applied immediately after the coil emerged from the E-coat dip tank.Coating process shall ensure <br />complete coil encapsulation and a uniform dry film thickness from 0.5-1.5 mil on all surface areas <br />including fin edges,end plates,structural frames,“u”bends,headers and refrigerant expansion- <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
