Use water meter to
record capacity in each system.
E.Place terminal control valves in open position during cleaning.
F.Verify that electric power is available and of the correct characteristics.
G.Reports:
1.Submit a written startup test report for each system placed into service.
2.A service report shall be prepared on site and submitted at the time of each service visit (with
copies immediately provided to the Owner and Commissioner),which shall include all
required test results and recommendations.
3.Additionally,provide final reports for approval to the Owner and Commissioner regarding
each site service visit, certified by an Officer of the CSP,within one week of any water
treatment activity. Such reports shall include the results of any field or lab tests. Reports
shall clearly state if the required water quality and maximum corrosion rates are being
achieved.
4.At a minimum, each report shall include the following information:
a.System Treated:
b.Date
c.Conductivity
d.pH
e.Total Iron
f.Total Copper
g.Bacteria(cfu)(monthly analytical laboratory analysis)
h.Coupon Corrosion Rates (three month analytical laboratory analysis)
i.9Make-up Water Quantity since Last Visit
j.Corrosion Inhibitor level (ppm)
k.Silica level (ppm)
3.02 CLEANING SEQUENCE
A.Concentration:
1.As recommended by manufacturer.
B.Use and dispose of chemicals and wastewater (including from existing piping networks)per the
Quality Assurance section of this specification. All costs of disposal shall be borne by the
contractor.
C.Hot Water Heating Systems (use the more stringent between the method below and
manufacturer's recommended method):
1.Apply heat while circulating, slowly raising temperature to 160 degrees F and maintain for 12
hours minimum.
2.Remove heat and circulate to 100 degrees F or less;drain systems as quickly as possible
and refill with clean water.
3.Circulate for 6 hours at design temperatures, then drain.
4.Refill with clean water and repeat until system cleaner is removed.
D.Chilled Water Systems (use the more stringent between the method below and manufacturer's
recommended method):
1.Circulate for 48 hours, then drain systems as quickly as possible.
2.Refill with clean water,circulate for 24 hours,then drain.
3.Refill with clean water and repeat until system cleaner is removed.
E.Use neutralizer agents on recommendation of system cleaner supplier and approval of Engineer
and Owner.
F.Remove,clean,and replace strainer screens.
Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
