OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 HVAC Water Treatment 23 25 00 - 2 <br />B.Water analysis shall include the following: <br />1.Hot Water and Chilled Water <br />a.Hardness <br />b.pH <br />c."M"alkalinity <br />d.Inhibitor level <br />e.Total dissolved solids <br />f.Temperature <br />1.05 WATER QUALITY REQUIREMENTS <br />A.Minimum water quality requirements for closed hot and/or chilled water systems shall be as <br />follows: <br />1.pH 8.0-9.0 <br />2.TDS <500 ppm <br />3.Hardness as CaCO3 and Alkalinity <120 ppm <br />4.Chlorides <200 ppm <br />5.Suplhates <200 ppm <br />6.Iron <0.5 ppm <br />7.Dissolved Oxygen <0.1 ppm <br />8.Ryznar Index >6.0 <br />9.Suspended solids <10 micron <br />10.Bacteria Counts <br />a.Total aerobic bacteria counts <100 cfu per mL <br />b.Total anaerobic bacteria counts <10 cfu per mL <br />1.06 DESIGN CRITERIA <br />A.Provide a complete chemical water treatment program during construction for all new and reused <br />piping networks. The program shall include water analysis,chemicals,testing,equipment, <br />consulting and service for the following systems <br />B.Chemicals shall be suitable for pipe material,fluid medium,and intended treatment. <br />C.Provide initial chemical treatment and equipment for all systems based on complete system fluid <br />analysis including makeup water prior to installation. <br />D.Initial supply of chemicals for treatment of each system shall be sufficient for start up and testing <br />period,for the time the systems are operated by the Contractor for temporary heating and cooling, <br />and for one year after start-up of system. <br />1.07 STORAGE <br />A.Store materials and equipment raised off the floor on pallets and protected with coverings to <br />prevent damage due to weather and construction activities. Store in areas that prevent damage <br />due to freezing and extreme temperatures or sunlight. Arrange coverings to provide air circulation <br />to avoid damage from condensation or chemical build-up. Protect from damage,dirt and debris at <br />all times. <br />B.Store chemicals in curb protected area.Such secondary containment areas must have the <br />capacity to hold the volume of the largest container or 10%of the combined containers,whichever <br />larger. If room has no floor drains,then the room itself may be considered sufficient secondary <br />containment.
