OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 HVAC Water Treatment 23 25 00 - 1 <br />SECTION 23 25 00 <br />HVAC WATER TREATMENT <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A.Materials. <br />1.System cleaner. <br />2.Closed system treatment (water). <br />1.02 SUBMITTALS <br />A.Product Data:Provide chemical treatment materials,chemicals,and equipment including electrical <br />characteristics and connection requirements.Include rated capacities;water-pressure drops; <br />shipping,installed,and operating weights;and complete data on furnished products listed below: <br />1.Shot Feeders <br />2.Coupon Racks <br />3.Flow Indicators <br />4.Valves <br />5.Product specifications and MSDS’s for each chemical used <br />6.Flushing and Cleaning Procedures <br />7.Passivation Procedures <br />8.Chemical Treatment Procedures <br />B.Shop Drawings: Indicate system schematic,equipment locations,and controls schematics, <br />electrical characteristics and connection requirements. <br />C.Submit directly to Owner,Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)for all chemicals used in chemical <br />treatment systems.Include with MSDS written notice of Owner's responsibility to notify its <br />employees of the use of those chemicals. <br />D.The Mechanical Contractor shall provide the water treatment subcontractor with a calculated water <br />volume (gallons)of the hydronic system(s)for the cleaning and flushing procedure and the <br />required flow rate (GPM)to remove debris,slag and/or surface corrosion byproducts.This data <br />shall be included in the submittal. <br />E.Certificate: Submit certificate of compliance from Authority Having Jurisdiction indicating approval <br />of chemicals and their proposed disposal. <br />F.Operation and Maintenance Data: Include data on chemical feed pumps,agitators,and other <br />equipment including spare parts lists,procedures,and treatment programs. Include step by step <br />instructions on test procedures including target concentrations. <br />G.Maintenance Materials: Furnish the following for Owner's use in maintenance of project. <br />1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.Manufacturer Qualifications:Company specializing in manufacturing the type of products specified <br />in this section,with minimum ten years of documented experience.Company shall have local <br />representatives with water analysis laboratories and full time service personnel. <br />B.Conform to all applicable Codes,Regulations,and Municipal requirements for the use and <br />disposal of chemicals (including cleaning compounds)and waste to public sewer systems. <br />1.Wastewater shall be discharged to the sanitary sewer only if it has a pH between 5.0 and <br />10.0 and meets the requirements of the local sewer and wastewater authority.For <br />wastewater not meeting such criteria,dispose of in accordance with North Carolina <br />Department of Environmental Quality regulations. <br />2.Glycols (of any type)shall NOT be discharged to the sanitary sewer. <br />3.Wastewater containing any chemical or sediment is prohibited from discharge to the storm <br />water system. <br />1.04 WATER ANALYSIS <br />A.Submit complete water analysis and results of performance test of each system signed by <br />manufacturer's service representative. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
