OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 Hydronic Piping 23 21 13 - 7 <br />Q.Welded Joints: <br />1.Use weld material diameter as procedurally required for type and thickness of work being <br />done. <br />2.Use sufficient argon pre-purge and argon post-purge for GTAW processes. <br />3.Clean tacks before welding out.Remove slag after each pass by grinding to avoid slag <br />inclusion. <br />4.Weld reinforcement shall not exceed limits established in ASME B31.1 <br />5.Brush each weld free of rust and paint with rust resistant product that matches surface color. <br />R.Copper Press Fittings: <br />1.Press connections:copper and copper alloy press connections shall be made in accordance <br />with the manufacturer’s installation instructions.The tubing shall be fully inserted into the <br />fitting and the tubing marked at the shoulder of the fitting.The fitting alignment shall be <br />checked against the mark on the tubing to assure the tubing is fully engaged (inserted)in the <br />fitting.The joints shall be pressed using the tool(s)approved by the manufacturer. <br />2.The installing contractor shall examine the copper tubing and fittings for defects,sand holes, <br />and cracks.There shall be no defects of the tubing or fittings.Any damaged tubing or fittings <br />shall be rejected. <br />3.Remove scale,slag,dirt,and debris from inside and outside of tubing and fittings before <br />assembly.The tubing end shall be wiped clean and dry.The burrs on the tubing shall be <br />reamed with a deburring or reaming tool. <br />S.Pipe Hangers and Supports: <br />1.Install in accordance with ASME B31.9,ASTM F708,or MSS SP-58. <br />2.Support horizontal piping as scheduled. <br />3.Place hangers within 12 inches of each horizontal elbow. <br />4.Use hangers with 1-1/2 inches minimum vertical adjustment. Design hangers for pipe <br />movement without disengagement of supported pipe. <br />5.Where several pipes can be installed in parallel and at same elevation,provide multiple or <br />trapeze hangers. <br />6.Provide copper plated hangers and supports for copper piping. <br />7.Cut hanger rods to within 1"of nut. <br />T.Provide clearance in hangers and from structure and other equipment for installation of insulation <br />and access to valves and fittings. See Section 23 07 19. <br />U.Provide access where valves and fittings are not exposed. Coordinate size and location of access <br />doors with Section 08 31 00 . <br />V.Install valves with stems upright or horizontal,not inverted. <br />W.All trapeze hanger rods shall be cut to within 1"of the bottom nut. <br />3.05 CLOSEOUT <br />A.If copper Press fittings are used on the project,Contractor shall turnover one (1)set of press tools <br />for each pipe size (or sizes)used on the project. <br />B.Provide four (4)hours of Owner training on copper press fittings.Training to be provided by <br />manufacturer's authorized representative. <br />END OF SECTION 23 21 13 <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
