OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 Duct Insulation 23 07 13 - 4 <br />1)Design Polymerics;DP 3050 Water Based,Zero VOC,Premium Quality,Lagging <br />Adhesive,and Vapor Retarder <br />2)Childers CP-35 <br />b.Compatible with insulation. <br />B.Mineral Fiber (Outdoor)Jacket: Asphalt impregnated and coated sheet,50 lb/square. <br />C.Flexible Weather-Proofing Outdoor Jacket: Self-healing,field-applied outdoor cladding. <br />1.Material: Aluminum foil/polymer laminate with rubberized asphalt layer and acrylic adhesive. <br />2.Thickness: 34 mil,0.034 inch. <br />3.Finish: Embossed. <br />4.Color: Silver. <br />5.Water Vapor Transmission: 0.002 perm inch,maximum,when tested in accordance with <br />ASTM E96/E96M. <br />6.Mold Resistance: Pass when tested in accordance with ASTM C1338. <br />7.Emissivity: 0.30 when tested in accordance with ASTM C1371. <br />8.Manufacturers: <br />a.Polyguard Products;Alumaguard​ <br />D.Reinforced Tape: <br />1.Metallized polypropylene tape suitable for continuous spiral wrapping of insulated pipe bends <br />and fittings resulting in a tight,smooth surface without wrinkles. <br />2.Comply with UL 723,SAE AMS3779,and ASTM C1423. <br />PART 3 EXECUTION <br />3.01 EXAMINATION <br />A.Test ductwork for design pressure prior to applying insulation materials. <br />B.Verify that surfaces are clean,foreign material removed,and dry. <br />3.02 INSTALLATION <br />A.Install in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. <br />B.Insulate all supply diffusers and ducted return grilles with 2"R6 Duct Wrap.Cut diffusers so there <br />is a folder 2"lap on all four sides.Take with FSK tape where insulated flex meets duct insulation <br />so there are no raw edges of fiberglass. <br />C.Install multiple layers of insulation with longitudinal and end seams staggered. <br />D.Install insulation with least number of joints practical. <br />E.Insulated Ducts Conveying Air Below Ambient Temperature: <br />1.Insulation on all pipes or ducts conveying air or liquids below the ambient temperature is <br />required to have a continuous vapor barrier.On all insulation with a vapor barrier,seal the <br />joints,duct wrap seams,vapor retarder (ASJ)film seams and penetrations in insulation at <br />hangers,supports,anchors,and other projections with a vapor-barrier coating/mastic as <br />specified in the individual insulation sections. <br />2.For insulation application where vapor barriers are indicated,extend insulation on anchor legs <br />from point of attachment to supported item to point of attachment to structure.Taper and seal <br />ends at attachment to structure with vapor-barrier coating/mastic. <br />3.Install insert materials and install insulation to tightly join the insert.Seal insulation to <br />insulation inserts with adhesive or sealing compound recommended by insulation material <br />manufacturer. <br />4.Cover inserts with jacket material matching adjacent pipe insulation.Install shields over <br />jacket,arranged to protect jacket from tear or puncture by hanger,support,and shield. <br />5.Continue insulation through walls,sleeves,hangers,and other duct penetrations. <br />F.Ducts Exposed in Mechanical Equipment Rooms or Finished Spaces​​: Provide rigid fiberglass <br />board insulation and finish with ​canvas jacket sized for finish painting​. <br />G.Exterior Applications: Provide rigid polyisocyanurate board insulation with vapor barrier jacket. <br /> Provide rigid polyiso board insulation and cover with ​with calked aluminum jacket with seams <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
