The design flow should be <br />achieved at the minimum psi differential. A 50%safety factory applied to the lower operating <br />range is not acceptable. <br />7.Each valve shall have two P/T ports. <br />8.3/4"through 2"connections shall be sweat type. <br />9.All automatic flow control devices shall be supplied by a single source and certified flow tests, <br />witnessed by a Professional Engineer,shall be available. <br />10.Five-year product warranty and free first year cartridge exchange. <br />B.Construction <br />1.The internal wear surfaces of the valve cartridge must be stainless steel. <br />2.The internal flow cartridge body shall have machined threads so the spring free height may <br />be compensated for without the use of fixed shims. A crimped sheet metal design is not <br />acceptable. <br />3.The internal flow cartridge shall be permanently marked with the GPM and spring range. <br />4.For 3/2”through 2”pipe sizes: An assembly shall consist of a brass Y-type body,integral <br />brass body ball valve and ‘O’ring type union;Flow Design Model AC,Victaulic Series 76 or <br />equal.All connections shall be sweat type. <br />5.For 2-1/2”and larger flanged or grooved connections: Ductile iron body suitable for mounting <br />wafer type between standard 150#and 300#flanges. The long flange bolts and nuts shall be <br />provided with each control valve. Flow Design Model WS,Victaulic Series 76 or equal. <br />6.All valves shall be factory leak tested at 100 psi air under water. <br />C.Minimum Ratings <br />1.3/2”through 2”pipe size: 400 PSIG at 250°F <br />2.2-1/2”through 14”pipe size: 600 PSIG at 250°F. <br />D.Flow Verification <br />1.Where indicated on the plans,the differential pressure across the Automatic Flow Control <br />Valve shall be measured for flow verification and to determine the amount of system over <br />heading or under pumping. <br />2.The flow shall be verified by measuring the differential pressure across the coil served or the <br />wide-open temperature control valve and calculating the flow using the coil or valve Cv. <br />E.Test Kit <br />1.Two (2)differential pressure test kits shall be supplied to verify flow and measure <br />overheading. The kit shall consist of a 4-1/2”diaphragm gauge equipped with ten-foot hoses <br />and P/T adapters all housed in a vinyl case. Calibration shall be 0–35 PSID for 2–32 PSI <br />spring range or 0–65 PSID for 5-60 PSI range. In addition,provide TWO (2)dial type <br />temperature gauges to use in the provided P/T plugs. <br />F.Installation <br />1.Install automatic flow control valves on the return lines of coils as indicated on the plans. <br /> Balancing valve on supply side is not acceptable. <br />2.Provide handle and port extensions to accommodate 2”thick insulation. <br />3.Install,on the supply side of coils,a Y-strainer with a brass blow-down valve with 3/4”hose <br />end connection with cap and chain. <br />4.Remove auto-flow devices during the flushing procedure. <br />G.Combination Y-Strainer/Ball Valve: <br />1.Combination ball valve,Y-strainer and union with two P/T’s,automatic air vent,bypass <br />adapter and hose end drain valve with cap and chain.IMI YC Series 3/4"through 2":DZR <br />brass body consisting of a full port ball valve and strainer with flow measuring ports.Ball <br />valve shall be complete with double o-ring seal,plated ball,blow-out proof stem,and steel <br />handle with vinyl grip.Strainer shall be Y-pattern,with 20 mesh stainless steel screen and <br />blowdown port.Suitable for operating temperatures up to 230°F. <br />2.Assembly shall be rated for 400 PSIG at 250°F. <br />3.Provide stainless steel ball and stem. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
