OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 Sleeves and Sleeve Seals for HVAC <br />Piping 23 05 17 - 1 <br />SECTION 23 05 17 <br />SLEEVES AND SLEEVE SEALS FOR HVAC PIPING <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SECTION INCLUDES <br />A.Pipe sleeves. <br />B.Pipe-sleeve seals. <br />1.02 REFERENCE STANDARDS <br />A.ASTM C592 -Standard Specification for Mineral Fiber Blanket Insulation and Blanket-Type Pipe <br />Insulation (Metal-Mesh Covered)(Industrial Type);2022a. <br />B.ASTM E814 -Standard Test Method for Fire Tests of Penetration Firestop Systems;2023a. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A.Shop Drawings: Indicate pipe materials used,jointing methods,supports,floor and wall <br />penetration seals. Indicate installation,layout,weights,mounting and support details,and piping <br />connections. <br />1.04 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.Manufacturer Qualifications: Company specializing in manufacturing the Products specified in this <br />section with minimum three years documented experience. <br />B.Clean equipment,pipes,valves,and fittings of grease,metal cuttings,and sludge that may have <br />accumulated from the installation and testing of the system. <br />1.05 DELIVERY,STORAGE,AND HANDLING <br />A.Deliver and store sleeve and sleeve seals in shipping containers,with labeling in place. <br />B.Provide temporary protective coating on cast iron and steel sleeves if shipped loose. <br />PART 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 PIPE SLEEVES <br />A.Non-manufactured sleeves: <br />1.Cast iron or Schedule 40 steel <br />B.Vertical Piping: <br />1.Sleeve Length: 2 inch above finished floor. <br />2.Provide sealant for watertight joint. <br />3.Drilled Penetrations: Provide 1-1/2 inch angle ring or square set in silicone adhesive around <br />penetration. <br />C.Pipe Passing Through Below Grade Foundation Walls or Exterior Walls: <br />1.Manufactured sleeve-seal system <br />2.Provide watertight space with link rubber or modular seal between sleeve and pipe on both <br />pipe ends. <br />D.Non-rated interior stud wall Penetrations: <br />1.Pack annular space with mineral wool and seal tight with caulk <br />E.Non-rated interior CMU wall Penetrations: <br />1.Pack annual space with mineral wool and seal with non-shrink grout. <br />F.Clearances: <br />1.Provide allowance for insulated piping. <br />2.All Rated Openings: Caulked tight with fire stopping material in compliance with ASTM E814 <br /> to prevent the spread of fire,smoke,and gases. <br />2.02 PIPE-SLEEVE SEALS <br />A.Manufacturers: <br />1.Advance Products &Systems,LLC​​ <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
