OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 HVAC GENERAL PROVISIONS 23 01 00 - 5 <br />3.03 INSTALLATION <br />A.All work shall be performed in a manner indicating proficiency in the trade. <br />B.Contractor may install additional piping,fittings,valves,etc.,not indicated on the drawings,for <br />testing purposes or for convenience to faciliate installation of the work.Where such materials are <br />installed,they shall comply with the specifications and shall be sizes to be compatible with system <br />design.Remove such materials when they interfere with design conditions or as directed by the <br />Engineer. <br />C.Use of access panels in inaccessible ceilings for access to equipment,valves,dampers,etc.,is <br />not permitted,unless access panels are indicated on the Architectural reflected ceiling plans. <br />Review any locations where additional access panels may be required with the Architect prior to <br />incorporating into Work. <br />D.This Contractor shall be responsible for completely cleaning the fireproofing from ALL materials or <br />equipment installed as part of this Contract.This includes,but is not limited to,ductwork,piping, <br />conduit,equipment,faceplates,boxes,disconnects,control panels,and cabling. <br />E.All conduit,pipes,ducts,etc.shall be either parallel to building walls or plumb where installed in a <br />vertical position and shall be concealed when located in architecturally finished areas. <br />F.Any cutting or patching required for installation of this Contractor's work shall be kept to a <br />minimum. Written approval shall be required by the Architect/Engineer if cutting of primary <br />structure is involved. <br />G.All patching shall be done in such a manner as to restore the areas or surfaces to match existing <br />finishes. <br />H.The Contractor shall lay out and install his work in advance of pouring concrete floors or walls. He <br />shall furnish all sleeves to the General Contractor for openings through poured masonry floors or <br />walls,above grade,required for passage of all conduits,pipes,or ducts installed by him. The <br />Contractor shall provide all inserts and hangers required to support his equipment. <br />I.The annular space around ALL wall and floor penetrations shall be properly sealed.For rated <br />assemblies,a UL listed method shall be used.For non-rated wall and floors,the annular space <br />shall be packed with mineral wool,or another suitable non-combustible material,and caulked air <br />tight. <br />J.Installation of piping and ductwork shall not interfere with walkways or service access. <br />K.All trapeze hanger rods shall be cut to within 1"of the bottom nut. <br />L.Provide minimum 1/2"thick closed cell elastomeric foam insulation,applied with adhesive,on <br />lower edges of equipment and mechanical duct and pipe supporting elements suspended less <br />than 7 ft above finished floors,platforms,or roofs. <br />3.04 PERFORMANCE <br />A.The Contractor shall perform all excavation and backfill operations necessary for installation of his <br />work. <br />3.05 ERECTION <br />A.All support steel,angles,channels,pipes or structural steel stands and anchoring devices that may <br />be required to rigidly support or anchor material and equipment shall be provided by this <br />Contractor. <br />3.06 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL <br />A.The Contractor shall conform to the requirements of Division 3 for concrete testing. <br />B.All testing required for compliance with the Contract shall be as stated in subsequent sections. <br />3.07 ADJUST AND CLEAN <br />A.All equipment and installed materials shall be thoroughly clean and free of all dirt,oil,grit,grease, <br />etc. <br />Docusign Envelope ID: D4F3B98E-0756-4A0C-A3AD-05AA32D39F1C
