OC Sportsplex Pool HVAC Unit Replacement <br />PDC Project 23022 HVAC GENERAL PROVISIONS 23 01 00 - 1 <br />SECTION 23 01 00 <br />HVAC GENERAL PROVISIONS <br />PART 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK <br />A.The Contractor shall provide all materials,equipment and labor necessary to install and set into <br />operation the heating and air conditioning equipment as shown on the Engineering Drawings and <br />as contained herein. <br />B.Intent of the drawings and specifications is to obtain complete systems,tested,adjusted,and <br />ready for operation. <br />C.Include incidental details not usually indicated or specified,but necessary for proper installation <br />and operation. <br />1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br />A.Refer to the General and Supplementary General Conditions and Division 01. <br />B.Check,verify,and coordinate work with drawings and specifications of other trades.Include <br />modifications,relocations,and adjustments necessary to complete work or to avoid interference <br />with other trades. <br />C.All work shall be in accordance with local,state and federal regulations. Minimum requirements <br />shall be the North Carolina State Building Code. <br />D.The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining all permits and shall notify inspection <br />departments as work progresses. <br />E.Whenever the words "Approval","Approved",or "Approved Equal"appear,it is intended that items <br />other than the model number specified shall be subject to the approval of the engineer. <br />F.Where a submitted product has electrical requirements that differ from the Basis of Design <br />specified product,it is the Mechanical Contractor's responsibility to coordinate the electrical <br />requirements of the equipment with the Electrical Engineer and Electrical Contractor at no <br />additional cost to the project. <br />G.All material and equipment that the Contractor proposed to substitute in lieu of those specified in <br />the Specifications,shall be submitted to the Engineer ten (10)days prior to the bid date for <br />evaluation. The submittal shall include a full description of the material or equipment and all <br />pertinent engineering data required to substantiate the equality of the proposed item to that <br />specified. Items that are submitted for approval after this date will not be accepted. <br />H."Provide"as used herein shall mean that the Contractor responsible shall furnish and install said <br />item or equipment."Furnish"as used herein shall mean that the Contractor responsible shall <br />acquire and make available said item or equipment and that installation shall be by others. "Install" <br />as used herein shall mean that the Contractor responsible shall make installation of items or <br />equipment furnished by others. <br />1.03 REQUIREMENT OF REGULATORY AGENCIES <br />A.Rules and regulations of Federal,State,and local authorities having jurisdiction,and utility <br />companies,in force at time of execution of contract shall become part of this specification. <br />1.04 SUBSTITUTIONS <br />A.Products are specified for use on this project by one of the following: <br />1.Reference Standards and Description: Any products meeting the Reference Standards and <br />Description will be acceptable (i.e.,piping). <br />2.Naming of a product as an example to denote the quality standard of the product desired,in <br />which case three or more brands will be denoted (where applicable)to establish equivalent <br />designs.
