DEQ No. 25-0071.

Biologists with the North Carolina Wildlife Resource Commission (NCWRC) have reviewed the subject
document. Comments are provided in accordance with provisions of the Fish and Wildlife Coordination
Act (48 Stat. 401, as amended; 16 U.S.C. 661-667e) and North Carolina General Statutes (G.S. 113-131
et seq.).

Orange County Schools is applying for Conditional Rezoning for the Cedar Ridge High School Outdoor
Agricultural Lab located at 1225 New Grady Brown School Road in Hillsborough, Orange County, North
Carolina. The project involves the construction of a 1350 sf pole barn shelter and a new pedestrian
connection to the new shelter from the existing school entrance.

Sand Branch, a tributary to the Eno River in the Neuse River Basin, flows adjacent to the site. We have
no current records of federal or state rare, threatened, or endangered species at the site, or critical habitats.

It is unlikely the project will affect protected species or other sensitive environmental resources. As such,
we have no objections to the conditional rezoning for this project. Thank you for the opportunity to
provide input in the early planning stages for this project.
