Cedar Ridge High School Rezoning Neighborhood Information Meeting Summary
January 9, 2025
5:30 pm
Cedar Ridge High School Media Room

The Neighborhood Information Meeting (NIM) was held as noticed to the public by mail and property
posting. The meeting was led by the applicant, Planning Director Cy Stober, who presented a brief
PowerPoint slideshow on the Non-Residential Conditional District proposal, as well as next steps for the
application to progress. The meeting was also attended by two Orange County Schools representatives,
Patrick Florence and Fredrick Davis, as well as their consulting architect Ken Redfoot.
Two people attended and only one spoke, asking two questions. One, a stated concern as to whether or
not new development on the school could limit the construction of new building and impervious
surfaces on neighboring properties. I stated that there would not be impacts to adjoining properties’
abilities to develop, should the campus be further developed. The second question was whether the
Agricultural Laboratory would be open to public use for demonstration purposes during non-school
hours. Mr. Davis stated that it might be considered, similar to other campus structures. There were no
objections to the project, nor substantive comments on the proposed plans that required response.
62
