5. Fiddlehead Community has presented to the planning board and it now goes to the <br /> BOCC for public hearing. This includes a discussion on rezoning and approval for a <br /> family care home. <br /> 2022-27 Master Aging Plan-Ann introduced Second Quarter Year 3 Reports <br /> a. Housing <br /> Kendall shared that the Senior Housing Guide is updated every 2 years. It is being updated <br /> now and will be ready in the summer. <br /> Madry Meadow's (Yellow Home Property) across from the Seymour Center is being <br /> considered for rezoning by DHIC who will build independent low-income senior living(60 % <br /> median income or below- $44K) housing. They developed the Greenfield Commons <br /> property off of 15-501. <br /> Ryan shared about Land bank analysis, which identifies and compiles hotspots for <br /> gentrification or displacements. Fairview in Hillsborough is an area of displacement. <br /> Dan asked what is land banking. Ryan explained that it is a process to make cash available <br /> to buy properties when they come up for sale. Developers'flip properties for students or <br /> investors and not for long term families. The Northside Community has had much success <br /> with the land banking model. <br /> The Home Preservation Coalition is active and currently has about 200 persons on the <br /> waitlist for repairs. There is a priority given to older adults needing repairs. The projects on <br /> the waitlist are typically complicated and require a lot of funding. Home safety repairs <br /> including ramps and grab bars are being handled through the Handy Helper Volunteer <br /> Repair program. Funds from the Mobile Home bond will soon be available to help with <br /> these larger repairs. <br /> Housing MAP Work Group (handout) <br /> Y3Q2 Update Highlights <br /> 3.1.2a. Educational events, websites, and brochures are developed, promoted, and <br /> disseminated esp. to organizations and individuals from diverse racial communities to <br /> advance knowledge of livable design. <br /> • New Senior Housing Guide is in development, Master of Occupational Therapy <br /> student is working with the Community Practice Lab (CPL)to collect information <br /> and data <br /> 3.1.2c. New senior housing development applications under review by the local <br /> government staff are reviewed by OCDOA staff for inclusion of livable design elements. <br /> • OCDOA and CPL have connected with DHIC regarding Maddry Meadows, anew <br /> senior housing development currently in the process of apply for rezoning, and will <br /> be reviewing plans/consulting as development moves forward. <br />
