10 <br /> Attachment 2: Draft Triangle West Transportation Planning Organization (TWTPO) Project List <br /> Transportation <br /> Circulator II Need: This project would provide a fixed route for underserved areas of <br /> Vehicles Orange County(not being covered by the Hillsborough Circulator)to major <br /> points of interest such as medical, employment, retail, municipal and social <br /> services. The project is currently in the unfunded category of the Orange <br /> County Bus and Rail Investment plan, yet remains a priority for our County <br /> Board of commissioners. It is only eligible for funding at the Division Needs <br /> tier. <br /> Description: Construct a sidewalk along the west side of Orange High <br /> School Road from Harold Latta Road to U.S. 70, construct a sidewalk <br /> along the south side of Harold Latta Road from Cloverfield Drive to Orange <br /> Grove Road, install high visibility crosswalks and in-road signage at school <br /> Orange High entrances and exits on Orange Grove Road, and construct a sidewalk <br /> School along entrance roads to CW Stanford Middle School. <br /> Road/Harold Need: Orange High School Road serves two schools north of U.S. 70, <br /> 16 TWTPO Latta Road Orange High School and CW Stanford Middle School. There are currently Approve Approve Approve <br /> Sidewalk no dedicated pedestrian facilities along Orange High School Road to <br /> Improvements <br /> * accommodate students accessing the schools from residential areas to the <br /> north and east. The project would provide safe and comfortable pedestrian <br /> connections from these areas to the schools. The Orange County Safe <br /> Routes to School Action Plan identifies these sidewalk and crosswalk <br /> improvements as central elements in the plan for both Orange High School <br /> and CW Stanford Middle School. <br /> Description: Construct a pedestrian bridge across 1-85 to connect southern <br /> Hillsborough neighborhoods with Collins Ridge, Daniel Boone Village, and <br /> Downtown Hillsborough. <br /> 1-85 Need: Neighborhoods to the south of 1-85, such as those along Cates <br /> 17 TWTPO Pedestrian Creek Parkway and Beckett's Ridge Drive, lack pedestrian and bicycle Approve Approve Approve <br /> Bridge* connections to commercial amenities and neighborhoods north of the <br /> highway. Constructing a bridge across 1-85 would create a safe access <br /> point for pedestrians and bicyclists and link areas of Hillsborough south of <br /> 1-85 to Downtown Hillsborough and commercial amenities along Churton <br /> Street. Receiving sidewalks will be present on both sides of the proposed <br /> pedestrian bridge. <br /> Description: NC 10 from NC 86 to US 70 Business with NCDOT standard <br /> street cross-section 2B (60' row, 11'travel lanes, with 5' paved shoulder), <br /> 18 TWTPO NC-10 add turn lanes and safety improvements at Lawrence Road (SR-1561) Approve Approve Approve <br /> Improvements New Hope Church Road (SR-1723), University Station Road (SR-1712), <br /> Mt. Harmon Church Road (SR-1339)and US 70 Business. <br />
