4 <br />o Develops and submits necessary bid documents for the department including <br />evaluation of bids; recommends whether to replace or repair equipment to the <br />Director; ensures that department remain in compliance with state and county <br />bid laws; updates department's replacement schedule on an ongoing basis. <br />o Oversees the work order system within the Department; enters all work <br />orders into the computer system; runs reports and improves data base <br />system for additional information resources, <br />o Uses reports generated from computer to prepare expenditures and budget <br />projections. <br />o Ensures that maintenance facility is clean and safe at all times. <br />o Performs other related duties as assigned. <br />KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: <br />o Knowledge of state and federal regulations pertaining to solid waste <br />management and recycling operations. <br />o Knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance procedures for a variety <br />of vehicles and equipment. <br />o Knowledge of department and safety rules and regulations. <br />o Knowledge of management and supervisory techniques, <br />o Knowledge of county and department policies and procedures, <br />o Knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping practices. <br />o Skill in planning and organizing work. <br />o Skill in welding and fabricating parts. <br />o Skill in maintaining and repairing a wide variety of vehicles and equipment, <br />o Skill in operating a computer, maintaining work order system and maintaining <br />repair records including labor, parts, contract repairs, warranty work, etc. <br />o Skill in using various hand and power tools and equipment. <br />o Skill in oral and written communication. <br />
