This certification is also a requirement for the Landfill Operations Manager, <br />• In the past, the Heavy Equipment Mechanic II was solely responsible for the <br />maintenance and repair budget for heavy equipment, Now, this role has been <br />expanded to include oversight of the equipment maintenance and repair budget for the <br />entire Solid Waste Department which includes the Recycling, Administration and <br />Landfill divisions. <br />The Solid Waste Director requested that Personnel complete a current classification and pay <br />study to take account of the new duties and responsibilities assigned to the Heavy Equipment <br />Mechanic II position. Personnel has completed this review, Based on the classification study, <br />Personnel is recommending that the existing Heavy Equipment Mechanic II (Position 865) at <br />Salary Grade 15 be reclassified to the new class title of Heavy Equipment Mechanic Supervisor <br />at Salary Grade 17 to recognize a broader scope and higher level of duties and responsibilities. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: Funds to implement the results of the classification and pay study are <br />available within the approved budget for 2QQ5-06.
