Department of Public Safety partners with the Juvenile Crime <br /> Prevention Council (JCPC) to galvanize community leaders, locally and statewide, to reduce and <br /> prevent juvenile crime. <br /> JCPC supports prevention and intervention programs that are making a difference for young <br /> people and their communities. Programs are typically focused on youth with behavioral issues <br /> and/ or involved in the court system. <br /> JCPC members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). Members <br /> represent nineteen (19) different fields/organizations, and the BOCC may also appoint up to seven <br /> (7) at-large members. <br /> Appointments to the JCPC are typically made when the BOCC approves the JCPC Certification <br /> and County Plan, usually in June of each year.
