future roof replacement costs that would be incurred
by the church.
10. During and after the project, what will your
continued engagement with the impacted
community be?
Since the beginning stages of the St. Joseph's CME
Church Solar Project, SolarEquity has recognized the
importance of engaging with the Northside
Neighborhood community and learning about the
community’s complex history. Before pitching the
idea to the congregation, the entire SolarEquity team
took an audio tour of the neighborhood offered
through the Jackson Center to ascertain the historical
significance of the church and neighborhood.
SolarEquity learned about how student rentals have
impacted the neighborhood and discussed ways to
preserve the rich history of the area despite the
addition of a student population.
Throughout the remainder of the project, SolarEquity
will continue to engage with members of the church
and Northside Neighborhood through interviews, and
sermons. Furthermore,
this figure doesn’t factor in potential adders that St.
Joseph's CME Church qualifies for that could bring
the tax credits to 50% of the project budget.
A 2022 Pew Research Center survey found that most
churchgoers believe they have an ethical obligation to
Page 13 of 28
Docusign Envelope ID: 257985C7-FC41-4937-8E64-B610C38DBA58
