The project focuses on Title
I and Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) schools, where students aged 5-
18 years old face significant racial and economic disparities. According to the
latest census data, these areas exhibit higher concentrations of minority
populations and lower median household incomes compared to the county
average. The Trees for the Triangle (TftT) team has compiled a list of Orange
County Schools (OCS) and Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public Schools (CHCPS), and
their respective location*, ESEA designation*, ADM*, percent EDS*, percent
POC*, percent people in poverty*, percent heat disparity*, percent children
and seniors*, tree equity score*, and canopy coverage.
