Applicant organization’s <br />Purpose/Mission (2-4 sentences): <br />The mission of Trees for the Triangle is to improve the ecological <br />and social resilience of the Triangle area through the planting of <br />trees. We envision a future in which the Triangle area is home to a <br />strong interconnected network of native trees, biodiverse urban <br />forests, and prosperous ecosystems that sustain thriving human <br />communities. In turn, these communities are instilled with a spirit <br />of caretaking culture for the planet and inspired to pursue the <br />highest quality of life for current and future generations through <br />the abundant preservation of local natural resources. Additionally, <br />Trees for the Triangle is dedicated to promoting tree equity and <br />environmental justice by equitably planting native trees and <br />inclusively engaging diverse communities, with social justice and <br />racial equity at the core of our operations to ensure all <br />communities benefit from green spaces and have resilient, <br />meaningful involvement in our initiatives. <br />3.
