3 <br /> l7 <br /> 'Cato``'^ <br /> HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> February 27, 2025 <br /> Jamezetta Bedford, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of County Commissioners <br /> 300 West Tryon Street <br /> Hillsborough,NC 27278 <br /> Dear Chair Bedford: <br /> The Orange County Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) wishes to make the following <br /> recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners to reappoint three current members to <br /> second terms on the HPC; all three have first terms expiring on March 31,2025: <br /> Reappoint Dr. Anne Whisnant to serve a second term in position#5. Dr. Whisnant is a <br /> professional historian with a strong background in historic preservation with a <br /> specialization on the impact on Black and indigenous peoples during the creation and <br /> development of our National Parks. <br /> Reappoint Art Menius to serve a second term in position#6. Mr. Menius brings an <br /> extensive background and interest in Colonial-period history and vernacular historic <br /> buildings and has worked extensively in the cultural arts and non-profit sector. <br /> Reappoint Todd Dickinson to serve a second term in position#7.
