Draft Public Review Draft of the LUP 2050 Cy Stober, 919-245-2592 <br /> PURPOSE: To receive a presentation from Clarion Associates, LLC, on the Draft Land Use Plan <br /> 2050 for discussion and feedback. <br /> BACKGROUND: At its September 10, 2024 work session, the BOCC received a presentation <br /> with an update on project progress, preliminary outcomes of the second community engagement <br /> window, and initial recommendations for the draft Conservation and Growth Framework. <br /> County Planning staff, Staff Working Group, and Clarion Associates have been coordinating to <br /> prepare the draft Public Review Draft of the Land Use Plan 2050 for BOCC review and feedback. <br /> Feedback received from the Board will be used to edit the Public Review Draft, which will be the <br /> focus of the third community engagement window to be held May — July of this year. <br /> Additional information, including objectives for the March 11 and April 8, 2025 BOCC work <br /> sessions, is provided in Attachment A. Incentivize and promote sustainable agriculture and local food systems <br /> development through supportive policy, funding, farmland protection and educational <br /> outreach. <br /> OBJECTIVE 5. Review land use policies to promote and connect Town, County, and <br /> private trails and open spaces. <br /> OBJECTIVE 6. Protect water supply/watersheds. <br /> OBJECTIVE 7. Conserve and protect high priority open space, including Natural Heritage <br /> sites, nature preserves, watershed riparian buffers, and prime/threatened farmland. <br />
