19 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> ANNUAL REPORT/ WORK PLAN <br /> Board/Commission Name: ADULT CARE HOME AND NURSING HOME <br /> COMMUNITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE <br /> Report Period: January 2024-December 2024 <br /> Person to address the BOCC and contact information: Co-Chairs: Shade Little and <br /> Jackie Podger <br /> Primary County Staff Contact Person: Kendall McMillan, Aging Transitions <br /> Administrator <br /> How many times per month does this board/commission meet, including any <br /> special meetings and sub-committee meetings? <br /> Meetings are held once a quarter on the second Tuesday of the first month of the <br /> quarter <br /> Brief Statement of Board/Commission's Assigned Charge and Responsibilities. <br /> Serve all the Adult Care Homes and Nursing Homes in Orange County and work with <br /> each facility in the best interest of those residing there. <br /> What are your Board/Commission's most important accomplishments: <br /> • Maintained a collaborative committee of dedicated community members who visit <br /> Orange County adult care and nursing home facilities each quarter. <br /> • While recruitment is challenging because of the reality of some senior living <br /> facilities and the time commitment it requires, the CAC has managed to maintain <br /> staffing to meet our responsibilities at a high level. <br /> • Participated in continuing activities each month to further CAC member <br /> education <br /> List of Specific Tasks, Events, or Functions Performed or Sponsored Annually: <br /> • Each quarter committee members submit visit reports for all Long Term Care <br /> facilities in Orange County to Autumn Cox, Regional Ombudsman, Central Pines <br /> Regional Council <br /> • All committee members are required to submit continuing education reports to <br /> Autumn Cox, Regional Ombudsman, Central Pines Regional Council <br />
