Support the growth of commercial uses in <br /> the • Rural Activity Nodes. <br /> Orange County will support the development of Rural Activity Nodes <br /> defined on the Conservation and Growth Framework Map to increase <br /> access to retail commercial needs for rural residents, provide more <br /> employment opportunities in rural areas, and support a more balanced <br /> tax base. <br /> The intent of this policy is to strategically support the development of rural-scale retail <br /> and agricultural-supportive commercial development within Rural Activity Nodes. <br /> Objectives of this policy include: <br /> • To support economic growth in these areas,studies may be needed to identify <br /> appropriate infrastructure needs that exist within undeveloped Rural Activity <br /> Nodes. <br /> • Evaluate the potential use of community septic systems or private wastewater <br /> package plants to serve these nodes and increase the potential for development. <br /> This includes an evaluation of the potential for the failure of systems and <br /> contingency plans if that were to occur in the future. <br /> • Evaluate the potential use of regional stormwater control measures to serve these <br /> nodes and increase the potential for development. <br /> • Work with landowners in Rural Activity Nodes to determine whether existing land <br /> use regulations permit the right type of land uses for these nodes. <br /> Thermo-Fisher-Stormwater Control Measure <br /> ORANGE COUNTY LAND USE PLAN 2050 53 <br />
