We are committed to environmentally responsible
practices and will never use Roundup or any other glyphosate-based herbicides when
services Orange County government properties. Our focus will be on using safe,
sustainable alternatives that minimize environmental impact while ensuring effective
weed control.
Plant Pruning
Our pruning approach is designed to prioritize the health and longevity of the plants. We
follow a health-focused pruning methodology, which involves removing dead, diseased, or
damaged branches to promote healthy growth and prevent the spread of plant diseases.
Pruning will be tailored to the specific species of plants and the unique growing conditions
of each site. For high-traffic areas, where more frequent control is needed, we may also
apply growth regulators to ensure the plants maintain a manageable size and shape.
Under typical growth conditions, we will perform hedge pruning three to four times
annually to ensure that shrubs and hedges retain their neat, tidy appearance and do not
become overgrown. However, additional pruning sessions may be scheduled if necessary
to maintain the desired aesthetics and health of the plants.
Mulch Application
To enhance the aesthetic appeal of plant beds while providing essential moisture
retention, we will apply a two-inch layer of mulch to all applicable areas each February.
This mulch application not only helps to conserve water but also helps to suppress weed
growth by blocking sunlight from reaching weed seeds.
Simultaneously, we will apply a bed pre-emergent herbicide to prevent weeds from
sprouting and ensure that the beds remain tidy and healthy throughout the spring and
summer months. This dual approach of mulching and pre-emergent treatment will create a
healthier environment for plants while reducing the need for frequent weeding.
These strategic methods are part of Murray's Landscape Maintenance & Horticultural
Services' ongoing commitment to quality and professionalism in maintaining the
properties of Orange County government. By implementing these detailed strategies, we
ensure that each property is maintained to the highest standards, creating a visually
appealing and sustainable landscape that residents and visitors can enjoy year-round.
Southem Service) '
