This amendment increases <br /> FY25 Orange County Annual Transit Workplan capital expenditures by $17,000.00. <br /> TYPE PROJECT DESCRIPTION ID AMOUNT NOTES <br /> New Crosswalk Install RRFB -protected N/A $17,000.00 Project budget <br /> Capital and ADA crosswalk to better-serve transit includes a 15% <br /> Project improvements stops near Town Hall, following contingency. <br /> for transit the North Street intersection <br /> stops on improvements. Project includes <br /> Martin Luther building two (2) new curb ramps <br /> King, Jr. Blvd. with ADA pads at new crosswalk <br /> location; installing one (1) RRFB; <br /> producing and installing sidewalk <br /> and median signage; acquiring <br /> and installing rubberized modular <br /> medians; installing lane bollards; <br /> and installing pavement markings <br /> and shark's teeth. <br /> NET FINANCIAL IMPACT $17,000.00 <br /> NEED <br /> We are requesting to amend the FY25 Annual Transit Workplan to allocate capital funding for <br /> crosswalk and ADA improvements serving two transit stops on Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. <br /> Prior installation of numerous crosswalks that are protected with rectangular rapid-flashing <br /> beacons on MLK Jr. Boulevard provide evidence that motorist compliance is high, that Chapel <br /> Hill Police Department provide patrol and enforcement, and that Chapel Hill Transit patrons and <br /> all other pedestrians are given safer ways to cross a busy five-lane road. <br /> SUMMARY OF PROJECT REQUEST <br /> FY25 Q3 New Capital Project: Crosswalk and ADA improvements for transit stops on Martin <br /> Luther King, Jr. Blvd. at Town Hall <br /> Project Cost: $17,000 <br /> Fiscal impact on FY25 Orange County Annual Transit Work Plan budget: $17,000.00 <br /> 405 Martin Luther King Junior Blvd. Chapel Hill, NC 27514 1 www.chtransit.org <br />
